2026 Gallery Showcase

Featured Artists

Meet the professional artists helping shape the inaugural Art of Faith Gallery Showcase — and the emerging youth artists selected to exhibit alongside them once judging is complete.

Professional Featured Artists

Curated local excellence.

Six accomplished Memphis-area artists are exhibiting original work throughout the December showcase at Artifacts Gallery. Full biographies and available work will continue to be added as the show is finalized.

Whitney Combs at her easel
Whitney Combs
Mixed-Media · Sacred Abstraction

Whitney builds large-scale devotional works from layered acrylic, plaster, and found paper, treating texture as testimony. Her pieces have appeared in group shows across the Mid-South.

"I want the surface to feel lived-in — like a prayer that's been folded and unfolded a hundred times."

Marcus Reid at work in his studio
Marcus Reid
Oil · Portraiture

Marcus paints luminous, large-scale portraits rooted in Memphis stories — elders, neighbors, and everyday faith. His work centers dignity and quiet strength.

"Every face has a sermon in it, if you're patient enough to paint it."

Elena Cruz painting at an easel
Elena Cruz
Watercolor · Illustration

Elena's delicate, narrative watercolors explore family, migration, and faith passed down through generations. She also teaches weekend workshops for beginners.

"Watercolor forgives nothing and teaches everything — a lot like grace."

Devon Blake working on a canvas
Devon Blake
Acrylic · Illustration

Devon's crisp, graphic acrylic work draws on sign-painting traditions and scripture typography, bridging fine art and craft.

"Letters are just another kind of line work. I want the words to be as strong as the image."

Simone Fields smiling while painting
Simone Fields
Acrylic · Community Portraiture

Simone paints joyful, color-forward portraits of community gatherings — church picnics, porch conversations, choir rehearsals.

"I paint the room the way it feels, not just the way it looks."

Julian Boyd at work on a canvas
Julian Boyd
Contemporary Painting

Julian builds bold, gestural canvases from color-field underpainting, working large and fast before slowing down to add fine detail.

"The first layer is instinct. Every layer after that is a conversation with it."
